Banner Ads grew quickly with the beginning of the internet in the 1990's and it wasn't long before they seemed to be everywhere. Static images were soon replaced with animated cartoons jiggling around on our computer screens. Remember how annoying they were? It didn't take marketers long to figure out they were unresponsive as well.
Fast forward two decades, combined with the data sophistication of today's internet, and banner advertising still continues to account for the majority of online advertising impressions. Although the ads have changed they are still a popular way to market online and won't be going away anytime soon.
